    Congratulations!

   Rosanna Sposato and Justo Villasmil were married on May 24th, 2008.  It was a
   storybook wedding! 

   Loreta Sposato and Ramon Montenegro will be married on August 23rd, 2008.

   Gina Furia Rubel has been honored as one of the 50 Best Business Women in the
   Commonwealth of Pennsylvania She received the honor in Harrisburg from Governor
   Rendell on May 19th, 2008.
     
   Lucia D'Alicandro and Franco Schiano DiCola were recently engaged.

   Loreta Sposato and her Fiance', Ramon Montenegro recently opened Lui & Lei Hair
   Salon on Ridge Avenue in Roxborough.

   Gina Furia Rubel has published a book titled Everyday Public Relations for Lawyers.    
   She has also been nominated Chancellor-Elect of the Justinian Society.

   Angela Sposato was engaged this past December to Roberto Caiaro.  Her wedding will
   held in Italy in October.
  
   Francesca Northrup was featured "In the Spotlight".  She was chair of Competitive
   Classes for the 2008 Philadelphia Flower Show.

   We are excited to announce that Bill Bucci was elected 2nd Vice President of the
   National O.S.I.A. in Palm Beach, Florida, in August.  Our Lodge is well represented on 
   the National level, with Jerry Vuono, who has taken on a second term as Financial
   Secretary; Ed Camiel is now a National Trustee, and Rick Furia has been chosen as
   a Sons of Italy Foundation Trustee.  We applaud them.  Lina Algieri was a delegate
   from Pennsylvania to the Convention and served Pennsylvania well.
    
 

  Your new officers on the National level are Alfred A. Affinito, President, from California; Joseph DiTrapani, National 1st Vice President, from New York; Hon. William D. Bucci, National 2nd Vice President, from Pennsylvania; Dorothy Berlandi, National 3rd Vice President, from Massachusetts; Daniel J. Longo, National 4th Vice President, from Maryland, and Anthony F. M. Spaziani, from Ohio.

   We are happy to announce that Dominic D’Alicandro was elected Trustee for District One of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania.  Other notable news from this Convention is that our Lodge generously donated to the Alzheimer’s Association, Cooley’s Anemia, and the CSJ, which are the charities designated by Sons of Italy. It should also be noted that our delegates individually gave what amounted to several thousand dollars to these charities.  At the convention, a new charity was included for the first time, which is the Italian Chapel of Our Lady of Pompei in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.  Our very generous Ivy Ridge Lodge delegates gave fully to this worthy cause, too, and they are the following:  Lina Algieri, Judy Camiel, Dominic D’Alicandro, Dick Maccarone, Luigi Patitucci, Angela Sposato, Joe Venuto, Bernadette Furia, Bill Bucci, Ralph Sposato, Jerry Vuono, Rick Furia, and Ed Camiel.  The delegates, in a poignant tribute, gave these gifts in honor of Dominic D’Alicandro, Jr., who lost his life nearly one year ago on October 13, 2006.  God rest his soul.  

  OUR LODGE AWARDED NINE SCHOLARSHIPS IN JUNE 2007…

  Bill Palo added a scholarship of $500 to the other eight scholarships this past June, which brought the number of scholarships from our Lodge to nine. Thanks to all those who made these scholarships possible.  Congratulations to all the winners:  Rosemary Affatato, Regina Ciammetti , Mario Flacco,  Kristen Keane, Katelyn Keane, Anthony Liberato, Marc Liberato, Jenna Sposato, and  Ralph Sposato, Jr.
